IORA – The Retreat sits a short drive from Kaziranga’s main Kohora entrance, a boutique property built around landscaped grounds and a smaller-scale, more personal style of hospitality than the park’s larger resorts.

Rooms & Table

The Rooms

Cottages and rooms set among the property’s gardens, comfortably furnished with private outdoor seating, designed for a relaxed stay between park visits.

Food & Service

Assamese and broader Indian regional cooking, served in an open dining area overlooking the retreat’s grounds.

Activities

Jeep and elephant-back safaris into Kaziranga, plus cultural excursions into nearby Assamese tea estates and villages.

Wildlife & Photography

Kaziranga’s central range near Kohora is among the most productive for rhino sightings in the park, and the lodge’s naturalist guides are well versed in the range’s seasonal grassland patterns.

A Photographer's Note

Visit the park’s watchtowers along the central range at dawn, when rhino and wild buffalo are often visible moving through the grassland in good early light.

Conservation & Impact

The retreat supports local Assamese community initiatives and contributes to broader awareness of Kaziranga’s rhino conservation programme.
