I went to Amboseli with Rahul in July 2025, my first trip with him, and I can say with full conviction that it turned out to be one of my best trips ever. We made some really good frames, but what truly stood out was the overall experience. Rahul would go the extra mile to ensure we got our shots, and if he ever felt he missed a step, he didn’t hesitate to acknowledge it. I remember one evening when we found a herd of giraffes at sunset, but they were partly hidden in the bushes, so we moved on. Later that night, he mentioned to the group, “One thing is bothering me — we should’ve stayed a bit longer with those giraffes; maybe we could’ve done something there.” None of us had even thought about it, but the fact that he brought it up showed how honest and genuine he is about what he does. He was also very open in sharing his knowledge, and his on-field guidance was simply unparalleled. Even before the trip, the prep call was very insightful . He asked us to study the work of a few photographers who’ve created some iconic images in Amboseli, and then visualise the kind of frames we wanted to create ourselves. It was a truly wholesome and enriching trip for me, and I’d highly recommend experiencing his tours. They’re thoughtfully curated and genuinely exclusive.
