Ol Tukai Lodge sits inside Amboseli National Park itself, among a stand of fever trees that gives the lodge its name, one of the park’s original and most established properties for travellers who want to be based within the reserve boundary.
Rooms & Table
The Rooms
Cottage-style rooms set among the fever tree grounds, each with a veranda, decorated with a straightforward, comfortable safari style.
Food & Service
Kenyan and international dishes served with mountain views when the clouds allow, alongside a pool for the heat of the day.
Activities
Game drives across Amboseli’s swamps and open plains, with easy early access to the park’s elephant-viewing areas from first light.
Wildlife & Photography
Amboseli’s elephant herds are joined by significant numbers of buffalo, zebra and wildebeest across the park’s seasonal swamps, particularly in the dry months when the swamps concentrate wildlife visibly.
A Photographer's Note
Being based inside the park itself means first-light access to the swamp edges before day-tripping vehicles arrive from outside the gates.
Conservation & Impact
The lodge supports the Amboseli Ecosystem Trust’s community and wildlife corridor programmes linking the park to surrounding Maasai group ranches.
