Xakanaxa Camp sits beside the Xakanaxa Lagoon inside Moremi Game Reserve, one of the Okavango Delta’s original safari camps, with decades of continuous operation shaping a genuinely experienced guiding team.
Rooms & Table
The Rooms
Canvas tents set among riverine forest along the lagoon, comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms and private decks.
Food & Service
Botswanan and international dishes served lagoon-side, with the camp’s long history often reflected in its unhurried, traditional style of hospitality.
Activities
Game drives and, seasonally, boating and mokoro trips through Moremi’s lagoons and channels.
Wildlife & Photography
Moremi’s mix of floodplain, lagoon and dry woodland supports strong leopard, lion and wild dog populations alongside excellent waterbird and lechwe sightings on the lagoon.
A Photographer's Note
Boat and mokoro access to the lagoon offers water-level photography of storks, herons and lechwe that a land-based vehicle can’t reach.
Conservation & Impact
The camp supports Moremi’s broader research and anti-poaching programmes as one of the reserve’s founding tourism operators.
