Xigera Safari Lodge

Okavango Delta, Botswana

An art-filled lodge deep in the Okavango Delta, commissioning original African art and design for every space.

Overview

Xigera Safari Lodge sits on its own private island deep within the Okavango Delta, rebuilt with a deliberate focus on commissioning original African art and craft for every space, giving it one of the most culturally distinctive interiors on the safari circuit.

Rooms & Table

The Rooms

Suites raised above the floodplain on stilts, each furnished with commissioned African art and craft, with private decks over the water.

Food & Service

A refined, contemporary dining programme drawing on both Batswana ingredients and international technique.

Activities

Mokoro and boating excursions through the Delta’s permanent channels, walking safaris on nearby islands, and game drives when water levels allow.

Wildlife & Photography

The permanent Delta channels surrounding the lodge support significant lechwe, hippo and waterbird populations, along with elephant and buffalo on the surrounding islands.

A Photographer's Note

Mokoro-level photography here puts the camera at water height with lechwe and waterbirds, a genuinely different perspective from vehicle-based safaris elsewhere.

Conservation & Impact

Xigera’s rebuild directly supported a broad commissioning programme for African artists and craftspeople, a distinctive conservation-adjacent cultural investment.
