Sarova Mara Game Camp

Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya (near Talek Gate)

A 75-tent luxury camp on the eastern edge of the Masai Mara, within reach of both the Talek and Sand River gates.

Overview

Sarova Mara Game Camp sits on the eastern side of the Masai Mara National Reserve, near Keekorok and roughly 20 kilometres from Talek Gate, on rolling plains that fill with wildebeest, zebra and gazelle during the migration months. Its tented rooms are built to a hotel-standard of comfort rather than a boutique-camp aesthetic, making it a dependable, full-service base for a first Mara safari.

Rooms & Table

The Rooms

Seventy-five tented rooms set among gardens, each with an en-suite bathroom, private veranda and views across the surrounding plains or camp grounds.

Food & Service

A main dining room serves full-board meals, with a bar, gardens and a swimming pool for time spent at camp between drives.

Activities

Morning and afternoon game drives across the eastern Mara, guided nature walks, a swimming pool, and camp-based games such as billiards and darts.

Wildlife & Photography

The eastern Mara’s open plains carry resident lion and cheetah year-round, with wildebeest and zebra herds moving through in large numbers during the July-to-October migration.

A Photographer's Note

The camp’s position away from the reserve’s busier western gates means quieter game drives and more open sightlines across the plains at dawn.

Conservation & Impact

As part of the Sarova group, the camp follows the chain’s wider sustainability programme covering water and energy use, alongside support for community projects around the reserve.
