Jim’s Jungle Retreat was planted decades ago as a deliberate recreation of Corbett’s mixed deciduous forest, and its 18 independent cottages and bungalow-style lodges – drawing on Raj-era and Van Gujjar pastoral design – now sit among mature trees and water bodies that draw genuine birdlife onto the property itself. Meals move around the grounds (bush dinners, machaan platforms, an open-air Golghar), and the in-house naturalists lead both game drives and on-property bird walks along dedicated trails.
