In this case, we are joined by Gurcharan Roopra, a photographer whose work sits among the most respected in the world of wildlife imagery. Over the years, his images have quietly shaped how many of us think about light, form, and storytelling in the wild. Itinerary
Arrival into Nanyuki followed by transfer to Solio. After settling in, we begin with an introductory session and, depending on light, a short evening drive. This is about understanding the landscape and beginning to observe how rhinos move within it.
A full day dedicated to rhinos. We spend extended time with individuals and groups, studying behaviour, spacing, and interaction with light. The open terrain allows us to experiment with composition — from tight portraits to expansive environmental frames.
This day is about going deeper. We move beyond documentation into interpretation — working with negative space, tonal contrast, layering, and mood. With guidance from Rahul and Gurcharan Roopra, the focus shifts toward building images that feel intentional and personal.
A final morning drive to make the most of soft light and any unfinished ideas. After breakfast, we begin our departure.
