Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti

Central Serengeti, Tanzania

A resort-scale lodge overlooking a waterhole in the heart of the Serengeti, its infinity pool one of the most recognisable views in African safari travel.

Overview

Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti sits above a waterhole in the middle of the Serengeti’s central plains, its design built almost entirely around that single, constantly changing view. It brings resort-level infrastructure and service to the heart of genuine Big Five country.

Rooms & Table

The Rooms

Seventy-seven rooms and suites across the property, each with a private balcony facing the waterhole and surrounding plains, finished to a polished, contemporary standard.

Food & Service

Multiple restaurants and a wine cellar built into the property’s rock formations, alongside a spa and infinity pool positioned directly above the waterhole.

Activities

Game drives across the central Serengeti’s open plains, hot air balloon safaris at dawn, and extended waterhole watching directly from the lodge’s public areas.

Wildlife & Photography

The central Serengeti holds resident lion prides, leopard, and large herds of plains game year-round, with the waterhole below the lodge drawing a steady procession of elephant and buffalo.

A Photographer's Note

The waterhole can be watched and photographed directly from the lodge’s decks without a vehicle at all, useful for patient long-lens work between game drives.

Conservation & Impact

The lodge supports Serengeti-wide conservation and anti-poaching initiatives and contributes to community programmes in villages bordering the park.
