Singita Sasakwa Lodge

Grumeti Reserves, western Serengeti ecosystem, Tanzania

Edwardian manor-house styling and manicured grounds sit in deliberate contrast to the wild plains stretching out below.

Overview

Singita Sasakwa Lodge sits on a hilltop within the private Grumeti Reserves bordering the Serengeti’s western corridor, its Edwardian manor-house styling and manicured grounds a deliberate contrast to the wild plains stretching out below.

Rooms & Table

The Rooms

Individually designed cottages and a manor house, each with antique furnishings, a private veranda and, in most rooms, a private pool overlooking the plains.

Food & Service

A formal, English-manor-inspired dining programme with an extensive wine cellar, consistent with Singita’s broader reputation.

Activities

Game drives across the Grumeti Reserves’ private concession, horseback safaris, and access to the western Serengeti’s migration corridor.

Wildlife & Photography

The Grumeti Reserves sit directly on the migration’s western corridor route, and the private concession also supports resident lion, leopard and a rhino reintroduction programme.

A Photographer's Note

The lodge’s hilltop position gives an unusually wide view over the western Serengeti’s woodland-to-plains transition, useful for landscape work distinct from the flatter central plains.

Conservation & Impact

Singita’s Grumeti operations fund one of East Africa’s most ambitious black rhino reintroduction programmes, alongside anti-poaching across the private reserve.
