Tarangire Treetops takes its design cue literally, building its suites up into the branches of ancient baobab and acacia trees, an unusual architectural approach that puts guests genuinely inside the park’s tree canopy rather than beside it.
Rooms & Table
The Rooms
Elevated suites built into and around mature trees, connected by raised walkways, each with a private deck looking out over the surrounding bush.
Food & Service
Tanzanian and international dishes served both at ground level and, on request, in an elevated treehouse dining setting.
Activities
Game drives across Tarangire’s elephant-rich terrain, walking safaris, and night drives available on request.
Wildlife & Photography
The lodge’s elevated position gives an unusually good vantage over elephant herds moving through the surrounding bush, alongside Tarangire’s resident lion and leopard populations.
A Photographer's Note
The raised suites and walkways offer an elevated shooting angle uncommon on the northern circuit, useful for photographing elephants from above rather than eye level.
Conservation & Impact
The lodge’s minimal-footprint tree-based construction reflects a deliberately light approach to building within Tarangire’s fragile baobab woodland.
